It may not cost as much as you may think    to repair or restore that
older piano, shop around a little,  at todays prices for another will
go far beyond a repair and tuning on the old one.
That big old unwanted piano(studio upright)  when repaired correctly,
is equal to a small grand piano in sound,      and will fit in a much
smaller space.  If you live in or around my area,    call or email me

REGULAR TUNING.
Tunings (A440), or at a lower note pitch. If your piano
has been tuned on a regular basis every 6 or 12 months.
Approximate time: 2.0 hours.
REGULAR TUNING PRICE.  Local tuning............  50.00 

Out of area tuning/A little extra for gas and driving
time, from Caryville, TN.
Price subject to change on parts and labor.

PRETUNING.
If the piano    has not been tuned in quite some time
(usually 2 years or more), it may require a pretuning
to remain stable. 
A pretuning is adjusing the strings to appx(A440), or
a lower standard note pitch,   let the strings settle
for about 2 wks,      then tune it again to 440 pitch. 
This can only be determined at the time of the tuning.
Approximate time: 2.0 hours. Pretuning price....50.00.

REPAIRS FOR YOUR PIANO.
The piano in most cases will work good as new,  with a few repairs.
Why spend a lot of money for a new piano,  when the old one can be
repaired. Some older pianos are a higher quality,   than a new one.
Ward Piano Tuning has parts for your piano,   on the service truck. 
Prices subject to change on parts and labor.

For most prices quoted below,  the repair needs to be at the time of a
regular tuning appointment.

INSTALL NEW KEYTOPS ON YOUR PIANO.
New keytops can be installed a lot cheaper  than you may think.
The keys need to be removed from the piano,    and taken to the
shop for the new key tops.
From left to right, number the keys from 1 to 88, they will not
interchange and must be installed back       in the same place.
I can remove and number them for you,    and install them back.
Or you can remove them, ship them to me, and install them back.
New keytops, labor and material...............200.00 to 250.00

IF YOU JUST NEED TO CLEAN YOUR KEYTOPS.
You can wipe the keytops with soapy bleach water   and a cotton
wash cloth. Wring wash cloth as dry as possible.     Rinse with
clean water. 

CLEAN OUT THE KEYBED AND INSTALL NEW FELTS.
Over the years, mice and moths eat out the keybed felts,
mice build nests, and carry junk inside it,  also people
drop junk in it.

The piano keybed can be cleaned out, new key felts can be
installed, on your piano, in most cases with a regular
tuning. After cleaning out the keybed and replacing the
felts,  the keys and action must be adjusted afterwards,
included in labor price.     Approximate labor time and
price, 3 to 4 hours.
Clean out keybed, adjust action and keys, lubricate.
Parts and labor....60.00 to 90.00

RESHAPE THE BAD HAMMERS.
If the hammers have deep grooves worn in them, the hammers
feel like they are grabbing the strings instead of bouncing
back off them.   In most cases the hammers can be reshaped
the same day with a tuning.     The action and keys must be
adjusted afterwards,   included in price.
Approximate time and price. 1.5 hrs ........50.00 to 60.00.

BROKEN HAMMER.
A hammer broke top bottom, center on your piano, it does not
matter. A broken hammer shaft,    in most cases is repaired
with a new shaft.  Hammer repairs can be made at the time of
a tuning appointment.
Shaft repair, approximately...................5.00 to 10.00

INSTALL NEW BRIDLE STRAPS.
If the bridle straps are bad and one breaks, have them
all replaced. The bridle straps pull the hammers back.
Approximate time 1 hr.  Bridle straps installed; Parts
and labor......Approximate.....40.00.

In some cases the upright action may need to be removed and restored.
Some on the spot repairs can be made. Some times the action may need
to be removed an taken to the shop for repairs.
